YAPC::NA Chicago - 15th June 2008 - City Views

My first morning in Chicago. I took a walk around the town and took a look at the beginnings of the Chicago Spire. Hopefully I'll be back after it's finished so I can go up it :)

I also took along Michigan Avenue, heading for Adams and Jackson. For those that don't know Adams is noted as being the start of of the historic and legendary Route 66, and there's a plaque to prove it. However, the start has changed over the years and is often disputed as being Jackson/Michigan. Opposite the entrance to Adams is the Art Institue, which features large lion statues, which apparently are the last remains of the Worlds Fair.
